In the last few weeks, University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension Dairy outreach educators have been closely monitoring the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) situation. They continue to update a UW-Madison Extension HPAI Resource list with important tools and information which are valuable to Wisconsin dairy farmers.

National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) and the National Dairy FARM Program hosted a webinar that featured UW-Madison’s Dr. Keith Poulsen, Director of the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The webinar discussed current situation updates, the testing process, and biosecurity recommendations. A recording will be available for 30 days and can be viewed here.

USDA APHIS released updated biosecurity recommendations to emphasize the importance of biosecurity practices and reducing the spread of the virus.
